June 11, 1896OBITUARY.
On Monday of this week occurred the funeral of Frank BLAKESLEY who has lived all his life in this vicinity, until the last eighteen months.
Last year he lived in Tingley township and up to his death, this year four miles south of Mt. Ayr, Iowa.
The funeral was preached by Rev. MILLER, the exercises being conducted by the Odd Fellows, he being a member of that order. The remains were laid to rest in the Knowlton [Centenary] Cemetery. Less than six months ago his brother Jacob BLAKESLEY was buried there by the Knights of Pythias.
They were among the oldest settlers of Ringgold County, Iowa.
NOTE: Frank was born in 1862. His gravestone is inscribed "Father." Jacob BLAKESLEY does not appear in the WPA Graves Survey database.
