The Ringgold Record, 1874

NOTICE of DEATH.

DIED - In Riley township, Ringgold County, Iowa, April 17th, 1874, Henry SINCOE, in the 74th year of his age.

Father SINCOE came to this county about nineteen years ago, and settled on the farm where he died April 18th 1874 after an illness of about three months. Although his suffering was very great he bore it very patiently. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss. The funeral was preached on Sabbath, by the writer; Text, 1st Cor., 15th chapter, 35th verse. On Monday he was followed to his grave [at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton] by many old and long tried friends.

NOTE: Henry's wife, Jane (BENNETT) SINCOE was born in South Carolina on October 12, 1816, married Henry in Indiana on November 19, 1834 and they came to Iowa in 1844. Jane died on February 23, 1898 with interment at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa. Of their children:

John C. SINCOE, their son, was born at Bloomington, Green County, Indiana on January 12, 1839, and died in 1889. His wife Caroline Watson (KLING) SINCOE was born in Pennsylvania April 27, 1846, and died at Benton, Iowa, on June 25, 1933. They were interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Maggie A. (SINCOE) BARNES was born in 1854, and died in 1936 with interment in Maple Row Cemetery beside her husband, William H. BARNES (1841-1927), a Civil War Veteran.
