OBITUARY - MARY (FIVECOAT) ALLEN SHOWERS

Mary SHOWERS, 89, of Mount Ayr, died February 3, 2005, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. John BRILLO will officiate the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Creston. There is open visitation with the family receiving friends 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Mount Ayr. A memorial has been established in her name.

Mrs. SHOWERS, daughter of Genevieve Margaret (ANTON) and James Grover FIVECOAT, was born February 2, 1916, in Murray. She married Charles Raymond ALLEN. On September 15, 1948, she married Alfred SHOWERS in Creston. She worked as a nurses aide.

Survivors include a daughter, Genevieve ROACH of Mount Ayr; two grandchildren, Billy (wife Michelle) THURMAN of Dallas Center and Robin (husband Mick) BIRKENHOLZ of Mount Ayr; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Catherine Agnes ALLEN; grandson Gary Dean CAMPBELL and sister Eula CHRISTIAN.
