Juanita SHIELDS, 90, of Mount Ayr died May 10, 2004, at her home. Services are pending at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr.

OBITUARY - JUANITA N. (WHISLER) SHIELDS

Juanita N. SHIELDS, 90, of Mount Ayr died May 10, 2004, at her home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Chris HALL will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be after 3 p.m. Wednesday with family visitation 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Mount Ayr. Memorials may be directed to Hickory Grove Church building fund or Hospice of Central Iowa, Mount Ayr unit.

Mrs. SHIELDS, daughter of Elva Susan (CLAYTON) and David Calvin WHISLER, was born April 14, 1914, near Kellerton. She graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1931. On June 15, 1933, she married Kenneth Leo SHIELDS at Clarinda. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She attended Hickory Grove Church.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald (wife JoKaye) SHIELDS and Edward (wife Kathy) SHIELDS, all of Mount Ayr; a daughter, Sheryol (husband R.C.) RUSH of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and brother-in-law, Lyndal SHIELDS.
