OBITUARY.
Died, May 8th, 1880, Mr. Jeremiah NORRIS at his residence near Redding, Ringgold county, Iowa. Mr. NORRIS was born May 30th, 1796, in Deerfield, Rockingham county, N.H., was converted and joined the M. E. Church in 1817, in Tuscarawas county, Ohio, where he lived until 1864 when he moved to Lucas county, Iowa, moved to Ringgold county, in 1865, where he remained until called away by death. Father NORRIS was a class leader in the church over 30 years. He was strongly attached to the doctrine and usages of the church. He leaves a wife and several children, one, Rev. G. W. NORRIS is serving his third-year as Pastor of Redding charge of the M. E. Church. His past life gave good hope that he has gone to be with Jesus. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. S. A. ELLIOTT to a large congregation of sympathising friends, from "Thes. 4:14." There has passed away one nearly 84 years of age, over 63 of which was spent in the service of the Master. [Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.]
