January, 1934OBITUARY
Thelma Icyle, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank BEAR, was born February 12, 1912, near Kellerton, Iowa, and passed away January 22, 1934, at the University hospital at Iowa City, being at the time of her death 21 years, 11 months, and ten days of age.
She had been in failing health the past sixteen months and all that medical skill and kind and loving care was of no avail. She spent practically all of her life near Kellerton. Her friends were numbered by her acquaintance. Thelma was always of a jovial nature and ready to help a friend in need.
Those left to mourn her going are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank BEAR; four brothers, Glen and Orville of Kellerton, Leonard of Mount Ayr and Ugene at home; five sisters, Mrs. Theola BARBOUR of Beaconsfield, Frata, Edna, Gladys, and Doris at home; four nieces and two nephews.
The funeral services were held in the home January 25, 1934, conducted by Rev. LONG, of Beaconsfield, and the remains laid to rest in the Oliver cemetery. The hymns sung were "The Old Rugged Cross," "There's No Disappointment In Heaven" and "God Will Take Care Of You."
NOTE: It was believed that Thelma died from complications from an appendicitis condition.
