DON C. McCONNELL, PIONEER RESIDENT DIES
FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
Don Curtis McCONNELL, 79, 422 East 19th, a retired farmer, died at his home Sunday [Decenber 12, 1965]. Fueral services will be conducted by Daniel M. BELCHER at the Colyer Chapel at 2 p.m., Wednesday. Burial will be make in Hillcrest Cemetery at Lingle [WY].
He was born Feburary 23, 1886 at Mount Ayr, Iowa, and came to Wyoming in a covered wagon in 1916 and homesteaded in the Gosher Hole area. He moved to Lingle in 1924 and then to Torrington in 1960.
He married Ressie A[lmeda] SMITH at McCook Junction, Nebraska, on November 30, 1905. She, a daughter, three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Rachel CROSS; Mrs. Lorrine WALKER, both of Torrington; and Mrs. Florence JACKSON, Wenatchee, Washington; three sons, Oliver, Ft. Laramie; Perry, Roan, Montana; Donald, Polson, Montana; 22 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren also survive.
NOTE: Don was the son of William McCONNELL (1846-1907) and Nancy Elizabeth C. (WHITE) McCONNELL (1850-1926). Ressie Almeda (SMITH) McCONNELL was born in York Nebraska April 28, 1887, and died August 28, 1964, Torrington, Goshen County, Wyoming.
