OBITUARY - MARY ELIZABETH (LARKIN) POUSH

Mary Elizabeth POUSH was born December 12, 1931 in Westline, MO to Walter Ashton & Hazel Olive (JOHNSON) LARKIN. Mary graduated from high school in Cleveland, MO in 1949. She soon moved to Creston, IA.

On March 29, 1950, she was united in marriage to John Henry RICHARDS in Creston. To this union four children were born; John, Jerry, Jeanie, and Jane. Mary and John owned & operated Creston Shoe Repair in Creston for 19 ½ years. John passed away in May of 1991.

On October 23, 1994, Mary was married to Robert Lee POUSH in Mount Ayr. At this time, she moved to Mount Ayr which has remained her home. Mary was currently a member of the Assembly of God Church in Kellerton. Mary enjoyed traveling in the motor home with Bob. She enjoyed going to country music shows and loved to dance. Mary liked to go fishing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends. Mary passed away suddenly on March 5, 2008 while in Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; grandson Jerald Dean RICHARDS; granddaughter Johnna Marie RICHARDS; her brother John LARKIN; and a sister in infancy.

Mary will be remembered by her husband Robert "Bob" POUSH of Mount Ayr; her children John RICHARDS, Jerry RICHARDS, and Jeanie RICHARDS, all of Creston, Jane RICHARDS & Justin PETERSON of Corning; step-son Byrle POUSH of Venice, CA; step-daughter Roberta CAMPBELL of Mount Ayr; foster daughter Ellyn POSTON & husband Sam of Davenport, IA; five grandchildren Cheryl RICHARDS, Suanne PETERSEN, Terri Jo RICHARDS, Jerry RICHARDS, Jr., and Abigail "Abbi" PETERSEN; six step-grandchildren Becky TRUJILLO, Kenny CAMPBELL, Candi CAMPBELL, Michelle GREGG, Jade PETERSEN, and Jace PETERSEN; five great-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Services were held Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
