OBITUARY.

Horace G. HALL was born near Sutton, Canada, about the year 1830. He came to the United States not far from the year 1857, and was living in Illinois, a few miles east of Burlington, Iowa, when he was married to Alice GRENDROD of the latter place February 21st, 1861. He came to Ringgold county about twenty years ago, and has since made it his home, living a part of time in or near Caldeonia, but the last few years in the town of Mt. Ayr. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. HALL, five of whome, with their mother are still living. For many years Mr. HALL was afflicted with asthma, but his latter trouble, and that which caused his death was dropsey. For a number of months he patiently endured his suffering, and his end which came March 12th was peaceful and sustained by a confident trust in God. He was a member of the Methodist church. The funeral service was held from the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, March 13th, conducted by Rev. W. B. THOMPSON, assisted by Rev. W. F. MARK.
