The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1933

DEATH of JAMES R. FULLERTON.

James R. FULLERTON, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Ringgold county, passed peasefully (sic) away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clyde LESAN, in Mount Ayr yesterday morning at 8:25 o'clock. A week before his death he suffered a heart attack and gradually declined until the end. He was 89 years of age.

The death of Mr. FULLERTON marks the passing of one of Ringgold county's best citizens, one of the county's early settlers and one of the few remaining veterans of the civil war. For many years after locating in the county he was engaged in farming, until old age made it necessary for him to give up active work on the farm and he moved to Kellerton where he lived in happy retirement until the death of his wife several years ago, since which time he had made his home with his children. During recent months he had spent most of the time in the home of his daughter in Mount Ayr.

An extended obituary is not available for publication in this issue of the Record-News and funeral arrangements had not been announced at the hour of going to press.

NOTE: Interment was at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa.
