OBITUARY - CHARLES ALBERT FRY.

Charles Albert FRY, son of William S. and Marinda FRY, was born in Utica, Clark county, Indiana, December 31, 1849, and passed away at Mount Ayr, Iowa, June 11th, 1925. He was the oldest of six children, the others being John Otto, of Mount Ayr; Sallie K. Fry and Mrs. Emily STRUTHERS, of Pasadena, Calif.; William E. of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Ella HICKMAN, of Abraham, Utah.

Charles Fry joined the Methodist church at an early age, and attended the State University of Bloomington, Indiana, during the years of 1867-68-69. In 1871 he came to Ringgold county and engaged in farming. February 17, 1873, he was married to Matilda L. PERRING, of Bloomington, Ind. To this union were born six children, Mrs. John C. HOLDEN, Mrs. John C. JOHNSON, Howard P. FRY, Olie Fern, Otto C. and Rollo L., all of Ringgold county. Mrs. Martha TIMBY became a member of the FRY family when a small girl and lived with them until she was a young woman. There were also ten grandchldren and two great grandchildren.

Charles FRY was a man of sterling character, a kind husband and a good father. Coming west when Iowa was a young state Mr. and Mrs. FRY learned all about the hardships of pioneer life. They reared their family on the farm they bought and improved. In the fall of 1918 Mr. and Mrs. FRY bought a home in Mount Ayr and moved to town with their daughter, Olie. Mrs. FRY died September 22, 1921. For many years Olie has been a devoted daughter, giving her entire time in loving service for her parents in their old age.
