OBITUARY - SADIE E. (BLAKE) DEMPSY

Sadie E. BLAKE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. BLAKE, was born in Noble county, Indiana, September 24, 1860, and died at her home in Ellston, July 7, 1923. She came with her father's family to Polk county, Iowa, in 1882 and was united in marriage with Eugene DEMPSY, December 24, 1891. In 1904 they moved to Missouri where they made their home until two years ago when they moved to Ellston, where they have since made their home. Although Mrs. DEMPSY had never united with any church she was a faithful christian. One who tried day by day to the best of her ability to live as her Master would have her live. And the mists of the valley of the shadow brought no fear of the end for she looked forward with a confident assurance there is no more pain.

She leaves beside her husband, one sister, Mrs. A GABY, Brimfield, Ind., and one brother, Wm. BLAKE, Santiage, Iowa, beside nephews and nieces. Although poor health forbid visiting with her new friends in this place many sympathized with her and aided in giving all possible comfort during her last illness and for which both herself and husband were very grateful.
