MARY JEAN PATTEN, daughter of Camiel and Mary Ann Burry Dehooge, was born April 24, 1943, in Brooklyn, Iowa and put the troubles of this world behind on October 30, 2019, at her home in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years.

Jeanie, as she was known to family and friends, spent her childhood in Brooklyn and graduated from Brooklyn High School. She made friends easily and treasured each of them. After high school, she attended trade school for bookkeeping.

On July 27, 1968, Jeanie was united in marriage with Wilbert Edwin Patten, Sr. Ed and Jeanie spent the next fifty-one years of laughter and memories, while raising their children. They loved each other completely and unconditionally.

Although Jeanie's top priority was tending to the needs of her family, she also worked outside her home. She worked at Copeland in receiving. She was a fork lift operator and material handler, until her retirement, after thirteen years. Those who worked with her appreciated her strong work ethic and expertise.

At the time of her passing, Jeanie was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. The love and continued prayers from her church family was precious to her.

She leaves to continue her legacy, her husband Ed; two sons, David Croak, Jr. and Ed Patten, Jr., both of Lebanon, Mo; one daughter, Doris Anne Wagner and her husband Timothy of Newton, IA; one brother, Camiel Dehooge and his wife Lucia of Malcom, IA; one sister, Liz Tourville and her husband Larry of Brookline, MO; four grandchildren, David Croak II, Joni Johnson, Graysen and Cole Patten; four great-grandchildren, Caleb and Connor Croak and Athrun and Akira Archer; other relatives and many friends.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents.

There are no services planned at this time for Jeanie Patten. At her request, she is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel.

Memorials have been suggested by the family of Jeanie Patten, for the Curry Cancer Center, and donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel, at P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, MO 65536
