NO QUARANTINE FOR CITY OF GRINNELL
The Rumor Has No Foundation.
Twenty-Five Cases in the City

During the last few days a rumor has been circulated that a quarantine was about to be established in or against the city of Grinnell. After a careful investigation we cannot find the slightest grounds for such a rumor. Neither the council or the city physician has heard a word about it. No communication has been received from the state board of health. It seems to have been one of those baseless rumors which have arisen from no discoverable source.

The facts are: There are 25 cases of smallpox in Grinnell known to the medical and school authorities. Nearly all of them are of a mild form and the entire community has full faith that the local physicians are abundantly qualified to handle the local problem.

The present agitation is quite likely the result in great good. If people will only get enough interested in smallpox to see that they, and all that they have authority over, are properly vaccinated, the whole thing will be a great blessing to the city of Grinnell.
