Cedar Park, TexasAge 67 of Cedar Park, TX. Born in Charles City, IA. Larry and his wife Sandra raised their family in Omaha, NE where they resided for 30 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Stephen the Martyr parishes over the 30 years. He was involved in various ministries in the parishes and participated in Cursillo and Teens Encounter Christ. Larry graduated from Rockford High School, Rockford, IA. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wayne State College, Wayne, NE; Masters Degree in Russian History from Creighton University, Omaha; and completed a minor in Economics from Colorado University, Boulder, CO.
Larry taught school in the Council Bluffs, Community School District for 34 years, and was employed at Barnes and Noble Book Store in Round Rock, TX, for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Wesley Brown. Larry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra Brown; daughters, Suzanne Marie Brown Garza and husband Gabriel, Leander, TX, and Stephanie Ann Brown Sanchez, Florence, TX; grandson, Hunter Nathaniel Garza; mother, Arla Mae Hirsch, Charles City, IA; brother, Scott Carl Brown and wife Rhonda, Elk Mound, WI; nieces, Nikki Hoeppner and husband Darren, and Kelly Carrier and husband Kevin.
The family will receive friends at 6-7 pm, with the Rosary at 7 pm on Monday, January 9, 2012, at Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park, TX. The MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Cedar Park. Interment will immediately follow in Bagdad Cemetery, Leander, TX. Memorial donations may be made to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church or the Travis Audubon Society, 3710 Cedar St # 5, Austin, TX 78705. Beck Funeral Home
