FIRE AT WESTON, IA.

Nearly Half Business Portion of
the Town Destroyed Last Night

Weston, Ia., Jan 2. – Fire that started in Petrus Peterson’s general store at midnight destroyed a greater part of the business section of the town and several residences. At three o’clock this morning, half of the residences of the town had been emptied of their contents and the streets were filled with household effects and stocks of merchandise which had been removed to places of safety. The loss at that hour was nearly $50,000.
