Doris Elaine Wilhelm, 83, passed away surrounded by family, Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Mill Pond Retirement Community in Ankeny. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 1, at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First St., Ankeny. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 SW Des Moines St., Ankeny with graveside services 11 a.m., Saturday, December 3, at Lincoln Memorial Park, Lincoln, Nebraska.
Doris was born April 10, 1928 in Palmyra, Nebraska to Emma and Nels Peter Andersen. She was a long time resident of Ankeny, a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and loved to swim at the YMCA.
Survivors include daughter, Jean Stephany (James) Kecy of Chattanooga, TN; sons, John Wilhelm of Omaha, NE, and Tim (Tammy) Wilhelm of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wilhelm.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ankeny YMCA or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny.
