Johnson, Bernice Lee Age 94, passed away on November 25, 2011 at the Bloomington Minnesota Masonic Home. Bernice was born on May 5,1917 in Des Moines, Iowa. Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her husband, Raymond Johnson, and was his caretaker for the last 30 years of his life.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Raymond, a brother, Raymond Price, and a sister Retia Goble. She is survived by her sister Lucille Bainter of Des Moines; son Harold and daughter-in-law Rusha; daughter Jan and son-in-law Roger; grandchildren Scott Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson, Alyssa (Kirk) Yamatani, and Jennifer (Erik) Petzel; and great-grandchildren Nori and Derek Yamatani, Odin Petzel; and Payton, Cleo and Samantha Johnson.
Bernice's family wishes to especially thank the residents and staff at the Bloomington Masonic Home for their extraordinary devotion, friendship and care for Bernice the past two years. They also wish to extend their gratitude for the special Allina Hospice team who assisted in Bernice's care the past 3 months.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for Bernice be sent to the Minnesota Allina Hospice Foundation, 333 Smith Ave., No., Suite 4640, St. Paul, MN 55102. Private family services were held at Dawn Valley Memorial Park. Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Chapel 952-941-7686
