Pauline Barbara Elsasser Canfield, 93, passed away December 8, 2011. A Celebration of her life will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, December 10 at First Church of the Open Bible. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m. A Graveside Service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, December 12 at the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL.
Pauline was born January 26, 1918 in Freeport, IL and at an early age was adopted by Charles and Susie Elsasser. Pauline married Roland V. Canfield on September 4, 1940 and they resided in the Freeport area until his death on January 21, 1998. She then moved to Des Moines in 1998 to be near her family.
Pauline will be remembered for her deep love and commitment to the Lord as well as to her family and prayed daily for each family member. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Rev. Paul V. (Vivian) Canfield of Des Moines and Rev. Keith E. (Bernideen) Canfield of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
