Lula Belle passed away on November 27, 2011 at the age of 95. She was born in State Center, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Emma Hennies, on March 11, 1916.
Lula Belle began her career at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1936 and retired in 1979. She had been involved in many organizations during her lifetime, such as Telephone Pioneers. Lula Belle married Ted Lowe in 1948. Together they had several Saddle Bred Horses that they stabled at their home in Des Moines.
Lula Belle was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; parents; sisters, Ildra and Irene and brothers, Arnold and Ralph. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The Family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of The Life Center where Lula Belle had been since February.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m., on Saturday, December 3, at Christ Lutheran Church, 6411 S.E. 5th Street, Des Moines. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
