Lawrence M. Tassin, 93, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., (noon) on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Iles Funeral Homes - Grandview Park Chapel, followed by a 1 p.m., graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Lawrence was born on February 10, 1918, the son of Emile and Algie Tassin in Des Moines where he lived most of his life. He served in the US Army during World War II. Lawrence worked as a warehouse truck driver for Ford Motor Company for 27 years and retired in 1972. He loved to golf and enjoyed bird watching.
Lawrence is survived by three sons, Russell (Pat) Tassin and Larry Tassin all of Grimes and LeRoy (Janelle) of Pleasant Hill; eight grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ella; two brothers, a sister and a great grandson.
Memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
