Genora F. Langan, 91, of Des Moines, died on Wednesday January 11, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. January 14, 2012 at St. Augustin's Catholic Church in Des Moines. A private burial will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Genora was born on July 4, 1920 to Harry and Pearl (Gibson) Malamphy in Colorado Springs. She worked for the Denver Dry Goods Company, and the Missouri State Highway Commission. She moved to Des Moines in 1986. Her memberships include St. Augustine's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Woman's League, Mercy Guild, Compass Club, and Questers.
Genora is survived by her two daughters, Linda C.(Phillip) Murphy, and Katherine Langan both of Des Moines; two granddaughters, Christine Esser, and Jennifer Murphy, and three great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Dunn's Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Augustine's Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society or Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
