Dolores (Roberts) Pratt, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2012. Dee married Earl (Dude) Pratt, the love of her life, in 1946 and remained by his side until his death in January of 1997. They relocated to Harrison, Arkansas in 1979 where they owned and operated the Crest Haven and Airport Motels. Dee was an active member of the Mary Mother of God Catholic church and a proud member of the church choir. She returned to Des Moines in 2009 to live the remainder of her days with family. She was a stylish and determined lady. Dude always said, "Dee always works with a velvet hammer."
Dee will be missed by her brother Danny (Edith) Roberts (Harrison, Ark.), sisters Rosemary Yetter (Altoona, IA.), Anita Roberts, Joan Roberts (Chuck Greenwood), C.K. Robbie Thompson-Blythe (Jackie), (Des Moines, IA.), and Michael Roberts-Wagner (Gary) (Adel, IA.), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dee was preceded in death by her sisters Glory, Mary, and Helen; and brothers Wally and Ted.
A memorial service for Dee will be held at Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Rd., Urbandale, Iowa on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 3 p.m.
Interment will be next to her husband at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter, Iowa.
