Virgil Gray, 78, of Rolla, MO., passed away suddenly on November 2, 2012. Virgil was born June 2, 1934 to Harold and Wilma Gray in Maryville, MO.
Virgil served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. He spent many years as a plumber and pipefitter. Over the years, Virgil enjoyed many interests, including: Nascar, Professional Bull Riding, gardening, antiques and church. Virgil also loved his pets. He was a hard worker, took pride in anything he did and was a very proud and stubborn man and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Harold, Jr. Virgil is survived by his wife, Mary of Rolla, MO, his sister, Louise (Laton) Goodson of Maryville, MO, his brother, Jim Gray of St. Joseph, MO., four children, Sherry (Ray Bracken) Black of Maryville, MO., Bob (Colleen) Gray of Glenwood, IA., Terry (Barb) Gray of West Des Moines, IA., and Mary (Les) Lininger of Kirbyville, MO and three step-children; Bill, Sally and Robert Peters all of Colorado. Also many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Per Virgil's wishes, cremation was performed by St. Louis Cremation.
A Memorial service will be held by family at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 10, at Price Funeral Home in Maryville, MO.
