Marjorie A. Webber, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 16, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, located at 2926 Beaver Avenue in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Marjorie was born December 7, 1924 in Bailey, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Violetta (Murphy) Hogan. She married Wayne N. Webber on November 10, 1943. Marjorie graduated from OLVA Academy in Waterloo, Iowa. She worked for the Des Moines Public School System and often volunteered at Holy Trinity Church and Bishop Drumm Home. Marjorie enjoyed cooking, golfing, card games, gardening, knitting and volunteering at her church.
Marjorie was a devoted wife, a loving mother and caring grandmother. She will be greatly missed by three sons, Bob of Des Moines, Don of Chicago, IL and Joe (Judy) of Gilbert, AZ; one daughter, Kathi of Fresno, CA; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the many friends who immeasurably blessed her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; one son, Jim; sister, Shirley Nemmers; two brothers, Gene Hogan and Ben Hogan; and one grandson, Mark Webber.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, at Iles Funeral Homes, Westover Chapel in Des Moines, where a Prayer Service will begin at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Passionist Community or Mercy Hospice.
The family wishes to thank the Mercy Hospice team: Mary, Stephanie, Nikki, Jan, Michelle and Aimee.
