Rev. Timothy John Dawson, age 60, passed into the presence of Christ on February 15, 2010. Timothy was born on April 30, 1949, and adopted by John and Margie Dawson of Des Moines, IA at the age of six.

A graduate of Evangel University and Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Timothy loved to study the Scriptures. He passed that love of the Bible on to his sons, whom he led to Christ at young ages. He loved books on nearly any subject, though history was by far his favorite.

His most important devotion was to his family, and throughout his life he worked to provide for them for as long as he was able. Health problems plagued his body, but the pain he suffered never overcame his positive attitude and spirit of love.

His wife of 37 years, Dilla, along with sons Kevin and Karl, remember him with honor and love. His parents, sister Janice Clutts, along with brother-in-law Jerry and nephews Aaron and Joel survive him.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Greenlawn North Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Quiz Scholarship Fund in care of Greenlawn North Funeral Home.
