MARRIED IN DES MOINES

On Saturday June 1 at
O’clock in the afternoon, Miss Dora Marie Pepin & Paul Munson exchanged marriage vows at the Asbury Methodist church in Des Moines.

The Rev. Paul Hillman read the lines of the double ring ceremony before the altar decorated with white Gardenia’s, Mums and small flowers. Lighted white tapers completed the altar arrangements.

Parents of the couple are Mr. & Mrs. Albert Pepin of 1522 Dean Ave. and Mr. & Mrs. Mike Kenney, RT 3, Chariton.

The church organist played a prelude of nuptial music and accompanied F. Gilbert Mote as he sang “I Love you Truly” and “Because”

The bride, given in marriage by her father wore a floor length gown of white Chantilly lace over satin. The gown featured a small train. Her fingertip veil was attached to a pearl studded

Mrs. F. Gilbert Mote of Des Moines, sister of the bride was maid of honor. Her gown was of pink lace over pink taffeta.
Raymond Munson of Des Moines served as best man.

Flower girl was Christina Lynn Pepin, niece of the bride. She wore a dress of lace over lavender taffeta.
Ushers and candle lighters were Don Wishart, Russell, Floyd Weubauer, Ankeny, Joseph A Pepin & F Gilbert Mote of Des Moines.

The bride’s mother wore a blue satin dress, trimmed in white, with white accessories, and the groom’s mother wore
A dress of pink lace over pink taffeta, with white accessories.

A reception was held in the church parlors immediately following the ceremony. The bride’s table was centered with a 3 tiered cake, decorated with pink roses & white leaves, and topped with a miniature bride & groom.

Hostess was Mrs. Joseph A. Pepin, assisted by Mrs., Patricia DeAngelo, Mrs. Brenda Ghee, Mrs. Carolyn Smith, Mrs. Sharon Schuling & Mrs. Connie Crawford. All of the women reside in Des Moines, and are schoolmates of the bride.

Following a weekend wedding trip, the couple is residing at 1271 Crooks St. Green Bay, Wisc., where the bridegroom is assistant manager at the F. W. Woolworth Co.

The bride was graduated from East High and until recently was a stenographer at New England Life Insurance Co. The bridegroom was graduated from Chariton High School with the Class of 1958.
