Dossie Ulysses Strong. 81. died Nov 2 at the Pocahontas Community Hospital Funeral services were held Saturday. Nov 5, in the United Methodist Church, Marathon, with interment in the Poland Township Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Elwood Christiansen, Eldon Woodford, Clifford Lee. Harlan Markley. Luverne Kope, and Leo Meyer.

Dossie Ulysses Strong was born Sept 11. 1902 in St Anne III., the son of Dawson Ulysses and Ellen Strong. At the age of six, he moved with his parents to Ware, growing up on a farm near Ware and attending school in Ware. He married Jennie Peterson oi Marathon in March 1928 and they moved to Pocahontas. In Pocahontas they had an oil business and restaurant From Pocahontas they moved to Fort Dodge where they lived until the mid 1940's when they returned to Marathon They resided in Marathon until moving to the Pocahontas Manor Care Center in September.

Survivors included his wife. Jennie, two sisters, Mabel Donahue of Pocahontas and Bertha Dugdale of Oak Lawn. Ill : and one brother. Fred Strong of Fort Dodge
