Marie Kramer, 86, Pocahontas, died Wednesday, July 1, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital.
Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, Pocahontas, with the Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Pocahontas.
Survivors include her daughters, Ruth Reis, Pocahontas and Linda Wirges, Omaha; sons, Leon, Fonda; Vernis, Havelock; Kenneth, Grinnell; Loren, Fort Dodge; Robert, Storm Lake; Bernard Jr., Pocahontas; Gerald, Pocahontas; Eugene, Emmetsburg; John, Pocahontas; and Michael, Cherokee; 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Angie Wilkeln, Austin, MN, and Frances Nelson, Carroll; half sisters Rosemary Kraig, Independence, and Annabell Schettler, Carroll; half brothers, Tony Ocken, Mesa, AZ and Paul Ocken, Colorado Springs, CO.
Marie Ocken was born December 5, 1905 at Arcadia. She was educated in the Arcadia area schools. In 1925 she married Bernard Kramer at Maple River. The couple lived in Maple River until 1942 when they moved to a farm near Pocahontas. In 1982 the couple moved into Pocahontas. He died in 1984, and she moved into Pocahontas Manor in May 1992.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Ladies Society, and Missionary Society.
