Theodore W. Tuttle dies in Washington; services slated here
Theodore W. (Ted) Tuttle, 76, a long-time Laurens area resident, died Monday night at Veterans Administration hospital in Spokane, Wash.
Services for the former contractor will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) at the Hitchcock Chapel. The Rev. Fred C. Rowley of the Havelock United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Laurens cemetery.
Mr. Tuttle had been traveling in Canada and Washington prior to becoming ill and hospitalized in the last week. Though he maintained Laurens as his permanent residence, he had lived in Arizona much of the past three years.
Born here Dec. 4. 1895. Mr. Tuttle was married to Wilhelmina Iaschke. June 18. 1921. and they had farmed near Ware five years, moving then to Pocahontas. They returned to Were in the 1930s, living there until moving to Laurens in 1959.
Mrs. Tuttle died in 1961 and he married Lena Campbille of Oklahoma City, Okla., in 1989.
He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Weinhold, Jesup, and Mrs. Robert Heathman, LeRoy, Minn.: 15 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Bill Reiners of Remsen, Mrs. Enoch Johnson, Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. Esther Anderson and Mrs. Leone Krug, both of Pocahontas.
