Seven children were born to them, three of whom preceded their mother in death. They were Marie, who died in infancy; Matilda, who died at the age of 15; and Henry, whose death occurred when he was 26.
Mr. and Mrs. Roewe lived on the farm until 1914, and then moved to Laurens. Mr, Roewe died in 1935. Mrs. Roewe was in good health until the spring of 1950 when she fell and injured a hip. She never completely recovered from the injury, although she was able to be up and around until a couple weeks before her death. Her chief interests were her home, family and church.
