WESTFIELD MAN CALLED BY DEATH LAST SUNDAY
Funeral services for Francis James Mackey, 77, were held at 10:30., Wednesday, at the Westfield Congregational church. The Rev. Donald Roberts officiated. Burial was at Elk Point, S. D., cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home of Akron, Iowa.
Mr. Mackey, a lifetime resident and farmer of the Westfield area, died Sunday at Akron, after a brief illness. He was born February 24, 1888, at Aurora, Indiana. He married Clara Simon (Simons) December 11, 1917, at Elk Point, S. D. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Harold of Westfield, and Francis, of Akron; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Fletcher and Mrs. Ruth Asmussen, both of Des Plaines, Ill.; Mrs. Elaine Hunt of Jefferson, S. D., and Mrs. Fern Hitzemann of Westfield; one sister, Mrs. Joan Garber of LaJolla, Calif.; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
