JOHN AND BRIDGET (MURRAY) QUINN FAMILY

John Quinn was born on December 24, 1840, in County Westmeath, Ireland.

In 1866 he came to the United States and in 1876 he married Bridget Murray in Pittsburgh. John and Bridget’s first three children were born in Pittsburgh. They were:

Elizabeth who was born on January 23, 1877. She married Charles M. Nolan and they had thirteen children. Elizabeth died on January 25, 1953 and is buried in St. Jacob’s Cemetery in Graettinger.

Mary E. who was born on November 3, 1878. She never married. Mary died on October 17, 1965 and is buried in St. Jacob’s cemetery in Graettinger.

James P., who was born on November 6, 1880. He also never married. James died on December 26, 1956, and is buried in St. Jacob’s Cemetery in Graettinger.

The Quinns moved to a farm southwest of Graettinger about 1881. The following children were born there:

Michael J. who was born on November 4, 1885. He never married. Matt died on March 3, 1965 and is buried in St. Jacob’s Cemetery in Graettinger.

John Quinn was blind for six years before his death on October 18, 1917. Bridget died on March 26, 1909. They are buried in St. Jacob’s Cemetery in Graettinger.
