VERNARD GILLESPIE DEAD

Vernard F. Gillespie, since 1911 a resident near Salem church, died at 2 o'clock last Saturday night at his home after an illness of a week, from pneumonia. Funeral services at the home were conducted Tuesday afternoon by Rev. F.R. Blakely, of the Salem United Evangelical church, of which deceased was a member. Relatives from Shenandoah, Lenox and Omaha were here for the funeral.

Vernard is the third death in the family since July - 1917. His father and son have both died in that time. Vernard was born in Page county Jan. 16, 1891, and was married in Red Oak, Dec. 25, 1911, to Miss Eva Coates. He is survived by his mother Mrs. S.D. Gillespie, his wife and three children, Floyd, Kenneth and Forest and a brother Frank. Deceased was well known and highly respected, and many friends sorrow with his bereaved family.
