Iowa, Page 6Miss Martha Gillespie Rites This Morning
Services for Martha B. Gillespie, 80, who died Saturday, Dec. 11 of complications in Murphy Memorial Hospital, were held this morning at the Perryman Chapel. She had been in ill health for a month and hospitalized for two weeks.
Rev. Asa Popp officiated. Music was by Orrin Carmichael, soloist, and Mrs. Dale Petty, organist. Bearers were Robert, Forrest, and Charles Gillespie George Palmer, Howard Nadgwick and Robert Rhoades. Burial was in Forest Lawn cemetery in Omaha.
Born June 25, 1868 in Carroll County, Ill., she was the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Palmer) Gillespie. She moved to Page County near Essex with her parents and lived there until moving to Omaha in 1923. She came to Red Oak in (?).
A member of the Calvary Baptist church of Omaha, she never married. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nellie McIntyre of Red Oak and several nieces and nephews.
