Charles Franklin Lile, Jr., 69, of Clarinda, died Saturday, July 19, 2014, in Omaha.
A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel in Clarinda, with Deborah Rivers officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Sergy Post No. 98 of Clarinda.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the memorial service Tuesday.
A memorial fund will be established. Memorials can be made at www.memoriesonline.com.
Arrangements are in the care of Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Liles was born Aug. 12, 1944, in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Charles Franklin Liles III and Thelma Margaret Cook Liles. He married Ruth Schlarbum Sept. 4, 1965, in Ottumwa.
After graduating from Davis County High School, Mr. Liles served three years in the United States Army, then returned to Davis County.
He was an over-the-road truck driver for 40 years until retiring two years ago.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth of Clarinda; three sons, Roy Lee Liles, Charles Franklin Liles V and his wife Jane, and Danny Ray Liles, all of Clarinda; one daughter, Crystal Downing and husband Jim of Shenandoah; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Laura May Durlam, Bloomington, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Betty Dufrasne.
