GUERTIN, FINK, FOLEY, LAGE, WILLEMSSEN

Funeral services for Edgar Leon Guertin were held from Trinity Lutheran Church at Sibley; Monday, March 2, with Rev. J.H. Reents officiating. Mrs. Walter Herrmann and Mrs. Lowell Sjogren sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me." Organist was Mrs. Alvin Kruse. Mr. Guertin died February 26 at a Cherokee hospital. Graveside rites were conducted by George Mudge Post 324, American Legion.

Edgar Leon Guertin was born February 8, 1895, at Sanborn. He was married to Lillian Fink of Melvin and they farmed near Melvin until moving to Sibley in 1946 where he worked in the poultry plant until retiring. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Duane, of Sibley; two brothers, Jack of Sibley and Don of Lakewood, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Foley of Sibley, Mrs. E.M. Lage of Des Moines, and Mrs. Tony Willemssen of Sibley; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Pallbearers were: Eldon Fink, Roger Foley, Gordon Willemssen, Earl Klosterman, Tom Wietzma and John Terhark.
