Funeral services for Clarence Lawton, 86, West Liberty, were held Aug. 4 at Snyder Funeral Home in West Liberty. The body was cremated and burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty.

Mr. Lawton died Aug. 1 at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty after an extended illness.

The son of Frank and Saah Cope Lawton, he was born June 7, 1900 in West Liberty.

He was a 50 year member of the Mount Calvary Masonic Lodge and a former member of the West Liberty fire department. He was a mechanic at Forsyth Garage, H. D. Cline Co., Bob Dice garage and Moylan garage, all of West Liberty.

Mr. Lawton is survived by several cousins. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
