Funeral services for Fred Uthe, 64, were held in West Liberty Oct. 26 with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery, Muscatine. Mr. Uthe died at Morning Sun Manor, Morning Sun, Oct. 23.

The son of Jurd and Carrie Kook Uthe, he was born in Jefferson Township, Davis county, Mo. He was married to Margaret Flake May 10, 1941. He later married Maxine Leggins at West Liberty Nov. 12, 1983. Until his retirement, he was a truck driver for Walnut Grove Products, West Liberty. He was a member of the Moose lodge at Muscatine.

Mr. Uthe is survived by his wife, 3 sons, Fred, Columbus Junction; Lloyd, West Liberty and Gary, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Elvira) Roberts, El Paso, Ill.; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Bobbie Jo) Donohoe, West Branch and Mrs. Michael (Paddy) Druhl, University Park; 2 brothers, Carl, Winston, Mo. and J. W., Altemont, Mo.; 3 sisters, Marjorie Mae Beker, Pattersburg, Mo. Bessie Dunham, Maysville, Mo. and Helen Shall, Camdenton, Mo. and 25 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife.
