Mason Whittaker, Life Resident of City, Succumbs
Mason Joseph Whittaker 72, life resident of Muscatine, died suddenly at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at his home, 613 East Sixth street. The body was taken to the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home, where rites are planned at 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be at Greenwood cemetery.

The son of Joseph M. and Ida Smith Whittaker, he was born March 7, 1885, at Muscatine. He was married to Johannah Nicolay on Dec. 10, 1934, in Missouri. He was a butcher by trade.

Survivors include his wife; two step-sons, LaMoyne Martin, Dakota, Ill., and Clarence Martin, Muscatine; one step-daughter, Mrs. Gabriel Rivers Muscatine one niece, Mrs. Genevieve Geunther, Philadelphia, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren.

One sister preceded him in death.
