[handwritten date: Nov 5, 1959] Heart Ailment Proves Fatal to Walter Weggen
Walter W. Weggen, age 59, died at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday at Bellevue hospital following a heart attack. His home address was 325 Kindler avenue.

The son of John and Minnie Becker Weggen, he was born Sept. 11, 1900 in Muscatine and had lived his entire lifetime here.

He married Gertrude Fisher on Dec. 18, 1920 in Muscatine. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was employed as maintenance man in the Muscatine public schools.

survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Weggen; two sons, LaVerne and Donald Weggen, all of Muscatine; a daughter, Wanda Weggen, Chicago; one brother, Elmer Weggen, Muscatine; a sister, Mrs. Cora House of Florence, mo. and two grandchildren. he was preceded in death by his parents.

The body is at the Ralph j. Wittich funeral home here services will be held at 2:3 p.m. Friday. Dr. W.H. Rogers, interim pastor of the Calvary Baptist church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
