Having had an early and intimate acquaintance with the lands of this Territory, and particularly in the central portion of it, his Agency is prepared to give the requisite
information to htose abroad who wish to purchase land. Those who have farms for sale will do well to leave descriptions of the same with him. Charges moderate.

Just received, at the old stand of Adam Ogilvie, a general Assortment of seasonable Goods, among which are 5 dozen fur caps, 2 bales buffaloe Robes and Coats, 10 cases Boots and Shoes, 20 pieces Jeans and Cassinets, 20 boxes Teas, 14 bags Coffee and 20 Hogsheads and Barrels New Orleans Sugars, & c. & c. & c.

T.S. Battelle, American Hotel, corner of Second and Iowa Avenue - one square from the Steamboat Landing. The proprietor of the above establishment would respectfully inform his friends and the public generally, that it is now
finished in the best style, and open for the reception of all those who wish to patronize him. Having incurred a very heavy expense in the erection of a commodious Hotel, (where one has been so much needed) he hopes, by personal
attention to business and a strict regard for the comfort of his guests, to merit remuneration through the patronage of a generous public. His Table will be provided with the best the markets affords. His Stable is commodious, and will always be attended by trusty ostlers. In short, every exertion will be used to suit the taste, comfort and convenience of all who may call on him.

Jas. Davis, Coll'r, Muscatine co. Taxes! Taxes!! All those who have been called on for the Taxes due Muscatine county for the year 1840, will please call and settle the same before the 15th of November next.

Doctor W.H. Blaydes offers his professional services to the citizens of Bloomington and its vicinity. Office on 2nd street in Hollingsworth's Drug Store, where he may be found unless professionally engaged.

W. Hollingsworth, Drugs & Medicines, Paints, Perfumery, Dye-Stuff's, &c offers for sale at his store in Bloomington, a general assortment. All the best quality and on reasonable terms. Presciptions carefully put up. He has also for sale a general assortment of Books & Stationary.

Dissolution. The partnership heretofore existing between Lowe & Whicher, in the practice of Law, is dissolved by mutual consent, they will both continue to wind up the business jointly commenced by them.

Administrators Notice. The Subscriber has taken out Letters of Administration on the Estate of Oliver Fairchild, late of Muscatine county,
deceased. All persons having claims against the deceased are requested to present them to the Subscriber, or the court of Probate for the county of Muscatine, for settlement within nine months from the date hereof, and all
persons indebted to said Estate are requested to make immediate payment to F.H. Stone, Adm'tor. Bloomington, October 23, 1840.

Fruit Trees. The undersigned has for sale a few choice fruit trees, which having been grown in his own nursery, he is willing to warrant as being the kind represented. Among them are peach trees innoculated with choice buds
from Longworth's garden in Cincinnati. Price, one dollar each. Among the apple trees are Early June, Prime Harvest, Winter Sweet, English Russet, Tulpehockin, Mariatah Russet, Green Pippin, Bellflower, Vandevere, Winesap,
Romanite & Smith's Cider. Price 50 cents each. Stephen Whicher. (note - Peach trees should be set out in the fall)

Benjamin P. Howland, Anti-Fever Pills. The subscriber keeps constantly on hand and for sale, a large supply of Dr. John Sappington's ANTI-FEVER PILLS, which he takes pleasure in recommending to the public as being the most
sovereign remedy for the Chills and Fever of any other heretofore made use of. Persons laboring under this disease would find it greatly to their advantage to call and try them. Price $1.50 per box. Bloomington.

Sheriff Sale. By virtue of an execution to me directed, from the Clerk of the Supreme Court of Iowa Territory, at Burlington, bearing date August 27, 1840, in favor of John Click, against John Carothers. I have levied upon the north-east quarter of Section eleven, in township seventy-seven north range, four west of the fifth principal; containing ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY ACRES of land more or less, second rate, and will offer the same for sale on
the 23d of November A.D. 1840, at the Court house door in the town of Bloomington, between the hours of 10 o'clock, A.M. and 4 o'clock P.M. of said day for cash in hand. James Davis, Sheriff.
