January 25, 1965William Kearney Dies Saturday
William Kearney, 81, of Weller, died Saturday evening at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital in Des Moines.
Kearney was born near Weller Sept. 13, 1883, the son of William and Elizabeth McCarty Kearney. He was a farmer in Monroe county all his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Elizabeth Cullinan, in 1931: an infant and three sisters and on brother.
Surviving are a sister, Miss Mary Kearney of Weller, a nephew, Pat O’Brien of Weller, with whom he lived; and three nieces, Mrs. John Murphy and Mrs. Gene O’Connor of Albia, and Mrs. George Reeves of Oskaloosa.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Weller with the pastor, the Rev. Father Edmund J. Weeg, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
The rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Humeston Funeral Home.
