15 January 2025John “Jay” Williams III of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 20, 2024, at the age of 31.
He was born November 26, 1993, in Waterloo, Iowa. Jay lived a majority of his childhood in La Porte City, Iowa, before moving to Onawa, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. Following graduation, he attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, where he studied graphic design.
Jay was so creative. He loved to paint, play games, and participate in debates (usually initiated by him). Yet he also enjoyed relaxing by watching a movie, binge watching one of his favorite series, or capturing nature’s beauty...like a good sunset. Above all, Jay loved spending time with family, friends, and his “girls” (cats, Neka and Leda). Making people smile or laugh came naturally, and he was always willing to help those in need. The loss of Jay will leave a hole in many hearts, but we are left with numerous paintings, pictures, and stories to help keep his memory alive.
Jay is survived by his mother, Michelle (Jason) Martin (La Porte City, IA); his father, John (Judy) Williams Jr (Onawa, IA); his brother, Collin (Julia) Williams (Council Bluffs, IA); sisters, Cretia Martin and Haley Martin (both of Waterloo, IA); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on 2 separate date/locations to accommodate all family and friends.
First: March 1, 2024, AMVETS Hall, 302 Cedar St, La Porte City, IA 50651, 1:00-5:00 PM
Second: March 8, 2024, upstairs Club Room at Hy-Vee, 2323 W Broadway, Council Bluffs, IA 51501, 1:30-4:00 PM
Memorials may be directed to the family.
