Darrell Park Amundson was born on Nov. 22, 1894 at Moorhead, Iowa and was the son of Ole Amundson and Jeanetta Ballantyne.

He married Alice Marjorie Wagner on Feb. 14, 1931 at Moorhead, Iowa and she is the daughter of Hans Wagner and Emma Stanton. She was born on Jan. 14, 1913 at Turin, Iowa. They owned and operated a farm near Soldier, where a dairy herd was kept and a large milk delivery route covered twice a day. They were both active in the RLDS Church at Moorhead. On Nov. 30, 1939 the house burned and a modern home was built on the same site. A large ice house was kept on the grounds and also a huge orchard.

Children: Edna Kathryn born Dec. 16, 1932 at Soldier; Dwayne Darrell born Feb. 6, 1936 at Sioux City (deceased on April 22, 1974 and buried at Maywood, Calif.); Alice Jane on Aug. 29, 1938 in Sioux City; Carol Jean born Aug. 26, 1944 in Sioux City; Alice Jane is an LPN and carol is a calligrapher and both live in California. Darrell passed away on Dec. 19, 1952 in Wickenburg, Arizona and is buried at Forrest Lawn in Los Angeles, California.

Alice married a second time to Albert Gene Anderson son of Albert Anderson and Clara Knutson on Nov. 22, 1952 at Omaha, Nebr. He was born on Nov. 1, 1928. Alice worked for many years at Sears as manager of infant’s wear. She retired in 1980 and does volunteer work at St. Luke’s in Sioux City where they reside. Gene is a steam fitter by trade. They are active in the RLDS Church and both belong to the organ club. Alice has the natural ability to play by ear and has a good singing voice. They have one son Warren Gene born on Nov. 28, 1954.
