AFFIDAVIT dated Dec. 18, 1940
In Re Title to W 18ft. of Middle 1/3 of Lot No. 9
and E 2ft. of W 1/3 of Lot 9, Block 132, Osage, Iowa.

I, John Bartlett, being first duly sworn on oath depose and state that I have been a resident of Mitchell County, Iowa for more than ____ years last Past; that I am well and personally acquainted with the real estate above described and with the chain of title thereof and with facts incident to the chain of title. That I know of my own personal knowledge and from inspection of the records, that by virtue of a warranty deed dated July 24, 1922, recorded July 25, 1922, in Book Z of Village Deeds, Page 67 of the Mitchell County, Iowa, records, title to said real estate was received by "Editor Cigar Co. (open partnership composed of Fred H. Moss and Gustav E. Swanson)". That I know of my own personal knowledge that Fred H. Moss and Gustav E. Swanson were the only members of said partmership at the time of receiving said deed, and that there were never any other partners or members of said firm until the dissoultion of said partnership.
That I know of my own personal knowledge that said real estate was held by said partnership under the firm and trade name of Editor Cigar Co.
That I further know of my own personal knowledge that Fred H. Moss, one of the above named partners, departed this life on or about the third day of December, 1937, leaving as his surviving spouse and only heir, devisee and legatee, his wife Myrtle V. Moss, who on the 29th day of January, 1938, deeded her interest in and to the above and foregoing described real estate to G. E. Swanson, the surviving partner in said business.
That I know of my own personal knowledge tht Gustav E. Swanson, correctly known as Gustave E. Swanson, is the sole surviving member or partner of said partnership operated under the firm or trade name of the Editor Cigar Co., and that by virtue of his prior undivided one-half interest in the real estate hereinbefore described and by virtue of his deed from Myrtle V. Moss in and to her undivided one-half interest in said real estate, formerly owned by Fred H. Moss, that Gustav E. Swanson is the only and absolute owner of said real estate.
That I further know of my own personal knowledge that wherever the names Gustav E. Swanson and Gustave E. Swanson, and G. E. Swanson appear in the chain of title to the said real estate, they refer to the one and same identical person, to-wit: Gustave E. Swanson.
That I make this affidavit to state the facts as they are known to me and have no personal interest in making this affidavit.
