ALICE AND JOHN M. KRONES FAMILY

Alice Elizabeth Herron was born on June 16, 1892 in Osage, Mitchell County, Iowa to William and Kristen Halverson Herron. She attended the Osage Schools.

John Matthew Krones was born on October 6, 1890 in New Haven, Mitchell County, Iowa to Hilarius and Katherina Schmidt Krones. John attended St. Mary's Academy in New Haven.

Alice Herron and John Krones were united in marriage on November 23, 1910, the day before Thanksgiving, in New Hampton, Iowa. They spent their honeymoon as guests of John's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Morrissey, at McIntire, Iowa.

Alice and John established their home on a farm near Osage. They were the parents of four children.

Lester is married to the former Katherine Rodemaker. They are the parents of three children: Stanley, Sandra Heckstein, and David. Katherine and Lester reside in Osage.

John Merle was born on April 30, 1917 and passed away on January 2, 1929 of meningitis and flue infection. He is buried at the Osage Cemetery.

Dean William is married to the former Florence Pint. They are the parents of three children: Larry, Lori, and Lennis.

Janet Kay was married to Donald Bentine. They are the parents of two children; Julie Kleckner, and Jeffry. Janet and Donald were divorced. Janet married Leland Sellers and they reside in Ankeny, Iowa.

The John Krones family moved to Osage in 1935. In 1936, they purchased their final home at 1232 Walnut Street in Osage. Alice lived here as a child and it is now the home of their great grandson, Keith Heckstein.

John was employed by the City of Osage for 30 years. They were both members of the First Baptist Church in Osage and Alice was an active member of the Ever Ready Circle.

After 68 years of marriage, Alice passed away on February 13, 1979 in Osage, Iowa.

John passed away on February 22, 1984 in Osage. They are buried in the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Iowa.
