Andrew Burchbom, aged 14, was driving a disc at Lamoille when he was thrown into the knives and had the flesh stripped from both legs and died at a Marshalltown hospital, soon after which his mother, Mrs. Herman Burchbom, died at the same hospital following a kick by a horse.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name spelled Buschbom and that Andrew was born June 22 1901 and died May 12, 1916. He is buried in Hillside Cemetery in State Center. However, his mother’s gravestone shows this was Amelia and that she was born March 9, 1879 but that she died in May, 1915.
