Services for Phillip Nolte, 63, of Knoxville will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Knoxville. No visitation is planned. Phillip Eugene Nolte, 63 passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Iowa. He grew up on a farm in rural Lacona, Iowa. Phil served his country in the Army during Vietnam. He returned home and purchased his family farm, which he managed until moving to Knoxville in 2005. He also worked as an electrician at the VA Hospital in Knoxville until he retired in January 2011. After his retirement, he enjoyed working around the farm; being a general handyman and helping everyone, scrap metaling, and most importantly spending time with his granddaughter.

Phil is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rebecca of Knoxville; son, Jason of Urbandale; daughter-in-law, Melissa of Runnells; granddaughter, Cassandra; brothers: Dwayne (Eva) of Paris, TX and Doug (Marylou) of Lacona, IA; and a sister, Dorothy (Dwain) Turnbull of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brad and his parents: Glen and Fern Nolte.
