Irene Ferguson Wyscarver was born August 6, 1909 in Hastings, Oklahoma the daughter of Cleo and Bula May Crampton Ferguson.
Irene came to Iowa by train when she was 2 months old. She had a sister, Margaret and two half sisters, Callen and Dee.
She married Jim Denney December 1, 1922 at What Cheer. To this union 3 children were born, Lloyd, Raymond and Barbara June. Offsprings of these 3 children are 11 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Irene was a member of the Spring Valley Club, the Central United Methodist Church and the church quilting group of which she was a very faithful member.
Jim Denney passed away February 9, 1964. She later married Edson Wyscarver on March 24, 1967. He passed away January 24, 1987. Other family members deceased are her son, Raymond and sister, Margaret.
She is survived by her children, Lloyd and Lubertha, Tom and Barbara June Jones and daughter-in-law, Nancy Denney. She is also survived by her two half sisters, Callen Berger and Dee McAllister.
Irene passed away Sunday, June 4, 1995 at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 7, 1995 at 10:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Crouch officiating. Interment was Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, Iowa.
